Different between Differentials and Incremental Backup
The difference between differentials and incremental backup is extremely important. To understand the distinction between them, examine Table below. As it shows, with
diffenretial abackup you back up all the files that have changed since the last full backup (which means that the size of the differenttial backup grows over time). With
incremental backup, you back up only file that have changed since the most recent full of incrememal backup (which means the size of the incremental backup is usually much smaller than a full backup).
